however, there is no evidence at all that these protests have anything to do with the "cost of living", whatever that even means. that's an entirely imagined motivation made up of out of full cloth by the liberal media, which is not a reliable source of information, and frequently just makes things up out of thin air. it's really an attempt to project the idea that riots in france are similar to riots in the united states, with no evidence to support the comparison, in order to meet market demand for media that says as much, generated by airheaded liberal media consumers.
macron's stupid comments about the situation should be generating headlines that say "stupid liberals resurrect the ghost of chamberlain to tie obviously immigrant-generated french riots to economic cost of living protests, without providing supporting evidence."
what's going on in france right now is clearly tied to gang violence and organized crime by right-wing extremists imported from the middle east. these are not protests at all, let alone legitimate protests. unions and fake left political actors have tried to co-opt the gang violence, make it about their issues rather than the issues being articulated by the gangs and then direct it towards the state (in a poor implementation of dubiously valid fringe left-wing theory; that is, theories on the fringe of the left), but there's no evidence that they've been successful in doing so. they're still just chanting "free palestine" and carrying out organized, mass theft operations, even after the unions tried and apparently failed to intervene.
nobody's interested in rebuilding the schools. there's no spontaneous group of vigilantes escorting kids to class. there's no bake sales or lemonade stands - or gofundme sites - to raise money for classroom materials. there's just entitled kids smashing windows to steal iphones and nikes, and mysterious thugs swooping in after to load stolen merchandise on to waiting trucks.
the proper state response is to deploy police to fight the gangs and mafia elements disturbing the peace and to correct the narrative to one supported by empirical facts, not to continue to parrot one that is made up out of thin air to support political projections by fake leftists that want to lie to people in an attempt to win an election.
